The first time I met Billy was at a Benefice Council meeting where we had a lively discussion about the disappearing ducks of Newton! He never lost his twinkly sense of humour and this was very evident when we had a conversation using his laptop at the beginning of the year. He is at peace now, on another journey, and will be very much missed by everyone. Sadly I will be unable to attend Billy's funeral but my thoughts and prayers will be with you. Good bless you, Sue..
Dear Billy, because of my strong belief - sort of knowledge - in life after death, I know that you will be reading these memories from wherever you are now. You were just a brilliant, wonderful, kind and caring person with a great sense of humour and so clever, yet so humble. It has been a lovely 14 years having you and Sally as our neighbours and such a privilege to have known you. We're here for Sally, any time she needs us. Thank you for letting us be a part of your life.
A man of grit. We will always remember him. I wish the world had more like him.
I met Billy when we were setting up the new Great Asby Broadband community wireless network in 2010. He was very welcoming, supportive and helpful. Running a community broadband service can be challenging at times but he will have been equal to the challenge and committed to its success.
Billy was a very kind, thoughtful and helpful person who always found time to stop and talk no matter how busy he was. Quietpc has lost a loveable and jovial member and we will all miss him very dearly. Our fond and funny memories will always remain though. Heaven has gained a remarkable person. RIP Billy x
Billy taught me so much about how to use a computer. Sometimes when he had shown me how to do something on my PC which I had not really understood,I sometimes would say "good God that's clever" and Billy would always reply "Yes he is". He was such a patient dear friend..
Dear Billy, you were a unique person with a never ending twinkle in your eye, even through adversity. Highly regarded and much loved by all that crossed your path. Your enthusiasm for everything you did was infectious and your kindness and humility humbling. Everyone will have a 'Billy' story I'm sure and will remember you with fondness and a smile at your antics over the years.
You will be greatly missed by us all and Zoe will grow up knowing you adored her (even though you thought it weird she didn't like mash!).
Heaven has gained a bright, twinkling star and if they need things fixing up there, I'm sure you'll be on hand to do the job.
Will miss your more than words. Much love, Karen and your loving grand daughter Zoe xx
I've only just learned of Billy's death. I'm very sad. I enjoyed Billy so much - such a wonderful and colourful character! Clearly dearly loved by his family and friends. His trace left on me leaves a smile and happy memories. I can't make his funeral, but my thoughts and prayers are with everyone remaining. Much love.
I am greatly saddened by the news. Our deepest condolences to all the family. Billy was instrumental in getting our Richard into engineering for which we will be eternally grateful. .
From all the Ibbotson family
We are extremely sorry to hear about Billy. He was a marvellous man who really threw himself into village life, joining in with all the activities as well as the Parish Council. Always happy and smiling, he will be very sadly missed. I hope to pay my last respects to Billy, but sorty I will be late. Thinking of you all. Love from Pat
